Project Description
The AGM and dinner of the Kwa Zulu Natal International Business Association (KIBA) was held at the Umhlanga Functions Venue at the Square on the 4th of March. The President of KIBA, Mr. Omi Singh was delighted with the growing success of the organisation. This organisation was born just as the pandemic began and it’s members immediately rose to the challenge of corporate responsibility by providing sponsorships for PPE’s to Police Stations, schools and hospitals. The members stepped in where Government failed and ensured that Government institutions remained open to the general public.
KIBA also embarked on feeding schemes to people in dire need at the time when it was most wanted. Now that the world is slowly returning to normal, Mr. Singh has pledged KIBA’s commitment to assisting young people to become entrepreneurs. He thanked members for their support in nurturing and growing young talent by offering trading, networking and advertising opportunities.
Mr. Singh announced that he has met with international businesses from India, China and Mauritius and this year KIBA is planning International trips to India, China and Mauritius to forge trade links and partnerships.
KIBA was honoured to host it’s guest speaker, Mr. Ashok Sewnarain, the founder and CEO of IBV International Vaults. Mr. Sewnarain stressed the importance of integrity, courage, determination, guts and the power and tenacity to persevere. He said that the challenge and opportunities are there, it is up to us, as young entrepreneurs, to look for it and chase it. “Overcome and conquer your fear of failure. If you dream big and chase your dreams, the Universe will reciprocate”. Follow us on facebook KZN International Business Association / Website: www.kiba.co.za and Tweet: @KIBA_KZN.
